We believe that a great experience on the water starts with great gear. Every piece of equipment at Bovec Paddleboarding is carefully selected for performance, durability, and above all — your safety.
Our boards come from two world-class brands. For beginners and those new to stand-up paddleboarding, we use Red Paddle Co RIDE series — renowned for stability, durability, and making first experiences on the water enjoyable and confidence-building. As riders progress, we move them onto Tambo SUPs — a championship-winning whitewater SUP brand whose boards perform brilliantly on flatwater too, rewarding better technique with speed and responsiveness. And when the river gets wild, Tambo is our board of choice for whitewater as well.
Safety gear is never an afterthought here. Inside our base you'll find everything needed to keep you protected and comfortable on the water. We kit out every paddler in Sandiline neoprene wetsuits and wetsuit shoes, keeping you warm in the cold glacial waters of the Soča even in summer. Every guest wears a properly fitted buoyancy aid (life vest) before heading out. For whitewater sessions, helmets and kneepads are added to the kit — mandatory protection when the river demands it.
Our instructors will make sure your gear fits correctly before you ever touch the water. Good equipment, properly worn, is what lets you focus on the fun.

Prefer to do things your own way? So do we. We rent inflatable paddleboards in all sizes — ready to go wherever you take them. Deflated, they pack neatly into a backpack-style bag that fits easily in any car boot. Pick up your board at our base: Kot 12, right in the heart of Bovec, and the Soča is yours.
Please note: rental boards are for flatwater use only and are not available for whitewater activities.

Hi there! I'm Andrej Trnkoczy, an experienced whitewater guide living in the breathtaking Bovec valley. Growing up in Ljubljana, Slovenia, I spent most of my childhood in the Trenta valley, where my family's weekend house was located. I have fond memories of playing in the forest, climbing trees, and observing the local wildlife. As I grew older, my siblings took me on adventures around the valley, and we spent many hours paddling on the Soča river in our father's kayak. He was one of the pioneers of kayaking in the region, long before the rise of Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP-ing).
During my teenage years, I became passionate about exploring the wilderness of the Julian Alps and trying out different sports, but it was always water sports that drew me back to the valley. In 2018, I decided to pursue my dreams and moved to Bovec to work as a whitewater guide on the Soča river. Soon after, I realized I wanted to start my own business. While paddleboarding was already popular, it was not well represented in the region, so I decided to open the Bovec Paddleboarding agency. Since then, guiding people and teaching them to paddle correctly has been my passion, and it allows me to fulfill my life's calling of making people have a good time being active in nature.
Throughout my years of working as a guide, I have gained extensive knowledge about water dynamics and safety precautions. This knowledge enables me to provide a professional and safe paddling experience for you to enjoy to the fullest.
